Dear Friend,
About a year ago at this very time, I began to correspond with a woman named - Kyung from Seoul, Korea.
At first, we would exchange letters every few days or so...comparing cultural differences, family traditions and life experiences. As we began to know one another better, our letters turned into daily journals. Sometimes we would exchange letters twice daily.
In July of 2000, I flew to Seoul to meet Kyung - face to face. It was one of the most remarkable life experiences that I have ever had.
She was so kind, thoughtful and beautiful.
Everything that Kyung was - was in her letters. Since that visit, our friendship has become even stronger. We maintain contact daily and even talk on the phone occasionally.
Of course, some of our conversations get lost in translation, but I am so glad that I took the chance to explore other parts of the world.
Sincerely,
