I enjoy corresponding via snail mail with my pen pals immensely and I am happy I decided to join with IPF. I've always been interested in finding out about people from different parts of the world and this is the best way to do just that. IPF HELP ME MAKE NEW FRIENDS!
My name is Karlijn Verbakel and I joined IPF for the second time now! I really like it! When I was 10 years I lost my best friend because of a car accident, he got hit right in front of me! I have been really depressed for a long time, I think for 4 years, I had a lot of bad dreams and was scared to make new friends because AI thought I would lose them anyway. But since I'm an member of IPF I got over it. My new friends hepled me by just reading what I've been treu and how I felt for a long time, and they wrote back, saying things how I could make friends at my school and that they wouldn't die like him! The ironic things is that several years ago I cut out a clipping from an American ladies magazine with the address in Ireland. I kept this clipping on my microwave all this time meaning to write and never did. Then I found your site on the Internet but waited several months before I actually joined. I should have joined years ago. I had 16 names on my list and wrote to all 16. So far I have heard from twelve. They all seem to be lovely and hopefully they will all become good friends. I am learning so much from these new friends. I have one lady in Uganda who is so excited to hear from someone in Canada and wants to learn all about Canada. This lady is so proud of her country and her people in spite of all the problems they have. It makes me stop and think about my own life and how fortunate I am that I am living where I am.
